Info on septum piercings?

So here's the deal. I'm going to be piercing my septum next week on my own. DO NOT flip **** and tell me how stupid and potentially dangerous it is; I already know. But I'm being smart and as professional as can be about it--hollow needle, saline solution, gloves / clean hands, the works. I've pierced my friends before and I have other piercings of my own. ANYWAYS, I'm just curious if any of you know some information about the piercing? I know it's supposed to go in through the "sweet spot" and not through the cartilage.(: I've found mine just fine so that isn't an issue. What I'm mostly worried about is the pain factor? I've heard it doesn't hurt too badly if you do it right...also, my friend (also a piercer) told me that there's three main nerves in your nose--two on the sides, and one underneath. Can someone confirm this and enlighten me on the risks if I were to hit these nerves? Other than the obvious sever pain / bleeding.
