Yes I do! Why should we even call it a "relationship" when it's open? I mean, we can just be "cool" and do whatever we want. I think it's an excuse to do whatever the hell you want and not give someone the power to make you feel guilty about you doing it.

Is it true that an open relationship will bring a couple closer together? In an open relationship a couple makes an agreement to allow each other to be sexual with other people. Many people are starting to realize that the idea that having sex with another person doesn't have to be a relationship ending tragedy. the idea of expecting ones partner to never have sex with anyone else ever again is an out dated concept.

In an this kind of arrangement both couples are still able to live out fantasies with other people and the fear of cheating no longer exists. No more worrying about whether the other person is being faithful, it's no longer an issue.

I think that open relationships are risky and they would require two people who are truly on the same page. There would need to be amazing amounts of trust and honesty, and there would have to be a clear understanding of why the relationship even exists when key needs are being met elsewhere.

It's not something for me, I'm sure of that. I wouldn't stop others having open relationships though, if that's what they choose.

Yes I do and I would never get involved in one. But it really comes down to the people involved, for some couples it works just fine and they go on for years with this arrangement. Makes no sense to me though. Why be married in the first place? Perhaps the thrill of it is that its taboo and they get off on that.

I am open minded about all relationship types but still prefer (for myself) monogamy.

I have many friends who are in open relationships, poly-amorous, swingers, or monogamous... I love them all the same and they are very healthy in their choices and happy with their relationships.
