Cyanide is actually present in certain seed of fruit trees naturally as a defense. The tree seeds contain hydrocyanic acid, which is the substance that potassium and sodium cyanide salts are derived from. (Apple seeds and cherry pits contain small amounts of the primary acid.)
These materials are too toxic for the average home chemist to use. You should consider working with a less toxic choice, especially if you are refining a noble metal like gold.
Some companies will sell these salts to the general public, but they are dangerous.
Aren't you proud of my answer? I did not assume that you had an Evil Purpose in asking this question, unlike the other posters here.
(Don't forget to pick a best answer.)
Hope this helps.

Its actually quite easy to make, but if you're going to poison someone why waste your time making cyanide when there are much more potent poisons out there that are readily available and less obvious.
EDIT: I highly doubt Hitler knew how to create the Hydrogen Cyanide himself.
