If i lost the title to my truck how much will it cost to get a new 1?

The bank sent the title and everything to get my truck registered in my name about 8 months ago but i never went n took care of it becuase the truck is a lemon and i've done nothing but fix it since i got it, but if it matters any the truck is a 95 chevy z71. i got a loan to pay for it for $5000 and don't have a bill of sale. just the registration application and the title signed over to me with the bank as a lean holder which are lost. i might be able to find them but if not i'd like to be prepared and know how much its going to cost and what i need to do to get the truck registered in my name as i am gettting it repaired once again.

Depends on where you are on what all you can do, but in most states you can

1- take your registration to the DMV and request a duplicate title (5-15 bucks)

2 - if there is a lein holder, they may ask that the leinholder contact them.

2 - Write/call the bank and ask them for a lein release. They are obligated to maintain the accuracy of the records. this happens all the time and there is no charge... A lot of companys will do it on your behalf and charge hundreds... personally, you can do it for a lot less...

it is not as big of a deal as you might think... A few phone calls and a little time spent on hold, and you will get your title..not bad at all, just a little time..
