Which octane for 2000 Audi A4? ?

I have a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T quattro, I'm supposed to run 91 minimum octane, however no gas station around me sells 91 octane, it's 87, 89, and 93, is it safer to run 93 octane or 89, I'm not sure if my knock

Sensor will kick in for 89 or if the pistons will hold up from the heat of the 91?

Update:

John, you obviously know jack **** about cars, if you run 87 or 89 octane through a high performance engine it will cause the knock sensor to adjust for the loss in power, However you will still get somewhat of a knock in the engine(mis firing) basically tearing the engine appart from the inside out, on the other hand, higher grade gasoline burns at I higher temperature, which in turn will burn right through your head gasket and put holes in your pistons, and for the record, the "T" in "1.8T" stands for turbo.. It's the common abbreviation for a turbo charger.

Go with 93 octane, that turbo needs fuel resistant to pre ignition.

-because of the high cylinder pressures generated by the turbo, this engine does not have the leeway to retard the timing like normally aspirated engines do. There are 2 categories, Premium Recommended and Premium Required, the 1.8T is in the Premium Required category. They clearly state 91 octane MINIMUM so 93 octane is perfect.

89 is fine, theres no turbo or supercharger on it so no need to go that high.
