Yes, sadly we cut back on spending AND on what we're producing (we own a farm-ranch) !!

We used to have a herd of 100+ goats and during the spring/summer I would travel Northern California's cities renting out the goats as "weed-whackers and brush management" tools for city-parks, school yards, and along road-sides. String up temporary nylon fencing with a solar electric line, put 20 goats and a dog in there, and they'll clean an acre in a day !!

Sadly, the budget cutbacks forced many cities to stop hiring us and letting areas become overgrown... we cut back to a herd of 40 and laid off the three other guys who helped transport and wrangle the goats :(

We also produce milk and cheese from the goats (and our cows)... there has been a reduced demand for our "luxury" cheeses. BUT we still produce it and donate it to the local food bank.

We DO have hope though... residents have complained and we're getting calls that the cities want to re-start our contracts !!

We are cutting back, but what has affected us the most, is that my husband's individual policy for health insurance went up to almost $700.00 per month, and he had to drop it. Now we are waiting to see if he will be able to get another policy through a program with our state. Of course this is when his knee went out with possible tendon tears and questionable cellulitis.

My customers were cutting back alot in 2008 and 2009, its a little better this year. It really terrified the country when obama was elected (fact, not my opinion. The stock market crashed when the election results were announced) and his existence, not to mention his policies are hurting everyone who works. The only people who aren't being hurt are those who benefit from all of the socialist welfare state freebies that he supports. (I.E.- if you work for your money, he is hurting you, but if you survive on government handouts, you are probably doing quite well) As for myself, no, i haven't had to cut back, but i cant save as much as i could 5 year ago. My savings isn't growing quite as fast as i would like, but i haven't had to cut back on cars, food vacations, etc.

Stuck in my current job, unable to bounce upwards from company to company.

I learned that Obama "created or saved" a kajillion jobs in the Fantasy Land of Utah's 5th of 3 Congressional districts.

  • It's hurt my college path. A lot of the colleges within the university I go to are closing off their classes to non-majors, which makes it hard for me to get my minor. Because of that, a lot of the classes I took mean nothing. I basically wasted a whole semester, time, and money.
