Dodgeman HELP- Caravan Sport 3.3?

I changed my ATF & filter today on my '02 Caravan (95k) and when I road tested it, it is downshifting hard from 3rd or overdrive. I need to drive it about 300 miles to pick up a light duty trailer and drive back 300 miles- your input?

Update:

What do you think is causing this to happen? this transmission has been serviced regularly since new. Do you think I'll be able to make the trip?

Update 2:

Used ATF 4

Update 3:

Runs great other wise. only the downshift and I did take it out of the neighborhood and seems to kick when going into overdrive also. I dont use that all that much on hwy driving unless needing to pass someone, and given the trip, I'm not going to be all that aggressive anyway.

i have to ask did you use atf-4 fluid back it and make sure that is was the recommended fluid for that van, changing the fluid and filter won't cause that unless you add the wrong fluid to it,it should make the trip fine but id sort of want to know why it started doing this right after it was serviced,im not real sure if id take off in it though knowing it wasn't doing this before the fluid and filter was changed,i have had them do this after servicing them but they would smooth out on a test drive and work normal,im not going to tell you to take of in it though and something happen on the trip,if there's any tranny shops open take it to one and see what the say might have caused that too happen, good luck
