can cold damage the wireless adapter?

my husband has gone out of town and he packed the home computer in the car last night. now he says he can't get a signal from the hotels wireless system. they are getting a signal in the lobby of the hotel, but when he brought his home computer to the lobby, he wasn't getting a signal. he called customer support for the wireless adapter and they said everything looks like its working fine. last night the temp got below freezing. Can the cold from last night damage the wireless adapter to make it not work?

It depends... if condensation formed on the inside of the adapter it could have caused damage, but that isn't very likely. If the adapter was damaged, the manufacturer should be able to diagnose whether or not it's working; if they told him over the phone that it's working, then there's some other problem.

cold only makes computers work better.

when an old hdd is failing because of heating problems, you have to make an ice block with a slot for the hdd to fit in, then you put the hdd in a plastic bag and put it inside the ice block, and use a hdd 2 usb connector.

so there's probly no chance the cold broke his adapter. (they get very hot btw)

anything in a computer that gets hot highly benefits from cold.

Yes it can. Moisture can condense on the inside from sudden changes in temperature and short it out.
