How do I groom my poodle with scissors?
I cant afford the $75 grooming every 4-5 weeks. I want to trim him in between visits. I only have scissors, how can I trim him to help between prof grooming visits?

Practice. Use a comb like they do in the (people) hair salon. Make sure the coat is clean and brushed out thoroughly. Pull a section through the comb and trim the hair on the top edge of the comb so it's even. repeat until he's somewhat even looking. Be gentle and very careful around his ears, anus, face and genitalia. He may look silly until you get the hang of it but practice makes perfect.

Make sure your scissors aren't too sharp, and you've got to be very careful. If the dog has already been groomed, try to keep the same shape when you cut his hair. Also, he has to stay very, very still, especially when you do around his face. I'm not sure what type of dog you have, but I think you'll be fine...good luck.
