Watermarks are there for a reason.
If you put it on then just use the original (which of course you saved unedited??)
If it is NOT yours then DON'T try STEALING others work.

Watermarks are there for a reason - the photo is copyright and is owned by somebody. You must not take somebody else's photo and use it without getting permission and paying a fee, because that is illegal. It's a form of theft. Watermarks are difficult to remove without messing up the picture. This too is deliberate.

Watermarks are something you add to a photo to protect your image. If you took a picture, added a watermark, and saved it but not as a copy, then you are stuck. You should take the picture again. If this is someone else's picture and you are trying to remove the watermark, you should just stop. We put watermarks in our pictures for a reason. We don't want them removed. We want you to pay for the picture instead of stealing it.
You will find a lot of animosity regarding this question for this reason. You might want to expand on your question and tell why you want to remove the watermark.

The British Journal of Photography recently estimated that the average professional photographer looses £3600 per year as a result of copyright infringement (out of an average salary of around £18000).
Watermarks are there for a reason. Hold it in respect.

The watermark was deliberately put there NOT to be removed to prevent image theft. You don't remove it, you contact the photographer and purchase a print. Or you create your own image. You DON'T STEAL other artist's works.

Stupid question!
Don't steal, and take away peoples income.
+ If you "get caught", it can get very expensive for you, again copyright infringement is illegal, be it music, books or pictures.
STOP, NO, AND DON'T!!!!!!

Hummm ... asking photographers how to steal from other photographers ... that's going to work.
If you want the picture, contact the artist and BUY IT!

The same way you erase the artist's signature from an oil painting...what a ridiculous question!
