Question for experienced Las Vegas travelers?

I am planning a trip to Vegas with my husband in a couple of months. We'd like to do a tour and see a few shows. It is better/cheaper to purchase tickets ahead of time or will the deals be better when we are actually there.

Thanks for any advice!

Everything cost more once you get to Vegas. Comparision shop online for show, tours and everything else you plan to do. Here is a good place to get show and tour discounts.

My suggestion is to by them in advance! That way you are guaranteed the tickets. Some sites offer then at discounted prices. Though your hotel may offer deals on certain shows as well, you can't be sure that they won't be sold out! My husband and I love Vegas and have tons of fun each time we go. We are heading out again in December and have already bought tickets to a few events we want to see. Friends of ours thought they would get a better deal on Cher tickets when they got down there, however it was sold out of course! Good luck, and be sure to take in some of the free shows as well!

It depends on how popular the show is. Also, how long has it already been running in Vegas.

I have purchased tickets to various Cirque Du Soleil shows while in Vegas (not in advance) but they have multiple shows to choose from.

For more unique shows, I would strongly suggest you buy them in advance to avoid disappointment and select better seats.

    Good luck and enjoy Vegas!

You definitely want to buy your tickets in advance for any type of headlining act or any Cirque de Soleil show. If you wait you do risk those shows being sold out. Cirque has not had a show not sell out in years and years. Also if you wait, you'll end up way in the back of the theather

If you don't have specific shows you want to see then I would wait and use the Tix4Tonight booths around town. There you can get tickets for shows that night for half price. If you really want to see a specific show then buy in advance so you are sure to get your tickets before they are sold out.

Here's a quick guide on how to find the cheapest prices.

    http://www.mycheapvegas.com/airfare-packages.html

Basicall you want to book your hotel + airfare separately. The only time you do it together is if there's some kind of crazy promotion going on with one of the online travel agencies.

For flights, I'd book about 1.5-2.5 months ahead, and for hotels, about 1-2 months ahead with the discount codes.

    Cheers!

Pick your hotel and go to their web site. You can purchase the show tickets there for the same price. Most casinos are owned by one of several corporations, eg Harrahs, Mirage, Sands, Wynn

If it's a good show you want to see book it now, it will be sold out by the time you get there.
