Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Ending?

First of all what the ****? Why does Minerva/Juno/Future Angel want Lucy dead? Is Lucy really a templar (doubt it because she would have turned me over by now) or is Juno a templar?

Here are my theories:

1).Since Altair had a baby with a templar it could be possible to have passed down to Desmond's blood, which caused him to do the evil that he did after he touched the apple

2). Or humans were slaves to the advanced "Those Who Came Before" and Adam and Eve were the first the first Assassins after taking the apple. And Desmond is Adam which means 1.)Someone is eve Lucy is eve (explain more lately.)

3).Maybe we are reliving the game from Desmond’s kid, which might explain why at the end it says "put him back he is in shock" because he altered what happened to Lucy by killing her and she could have been mother or ancestor/Eve . And the templar’s are trying to change what happened in the past.

1).Or Lucy is a templar because Juno said at the end: "the cross (templar symbol) darkens the horizon, the path must be opened!" and just after that Juno forces you to stab Lucy. What strengthens this is the fact that subject 16 says: She (Lucy) is not who you think she is... Then there were the mails that you could read from Lucy were she mails with a guy (I think it's a templar). You get her password from a guy called Erudito...he sends you a mail...could this Erudito person be subject 16? Who supposedly can travel time? The achievement of the glyph puzzles says he's still alive. It also explains the red footprints outside because they are from Lucy and red means Templar maybe you noticed that when you went outside the animus Lucy was gone mostly of the time... There was also an email about a warning of a white van outside...so Lucy could be walking outside to give them information.

Or the guys at the ending saying he is in shock because Desmond relived that memorie and didn’t know he did that to Lucy.

Feel free to commen, suggest, prove, disprove, adjust any of my theories or suggest your own but if you really know put this before you answer: (</\>)

I believe that nothing is true, and everything is permitted.

Given that statement as the Assassin's Creed itself, and using the known details from The Truth applications and the 2 endings of AC II and Brotherhood, There are some statements that can be drawn.

    1) We do not know if Subject 16 is alive or not. What we DO know is that he has embedded a digital component of himself into Desmond's memories, through Ezio Auditore da Firenze. This could suggest one of three things: that either he is a cyborg, a software engineer, or a descendant of an ancestor whose Bleeding Effect is time travel.

    Now, as for your theories...

2/Rel 1) I don't think that being a Templar or an Assassin makes any difference to how one uses the Apple, because Those Who Came Before created it; therefore They alone know how to control it. This is because the Apple possesses Their power, and can thus be controlled by any one of Them, at any time. This would prove Juno controlling Desmond through the Apple. I think it's not about the beliefs but the bloodlines themselves. Since Desmond is essentially more human and less like Them than Altaïr and Ezio (due to his divine ancestry being "polluted" with more and more human bloodline), he has less control over the Apple, yet can still hold off its impulse for so long before succumbing to it.

3/Rel 2) The first part of this is absolutely correct. Humans WERE slaves to Those Who Came Before. It would be assumed that Adam and Eve are Their children, yet were raised like humans. This would explain their resistance to the Apple, because they are directly THE descendants of Those Who Came Before. Desmond has to be a descendant of Adam; he wouldn't see the memory of Adam and Eve escaping Eden if he wasn't. This means Adam's whole entire bloodline is the same which fathers Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Subject 16, and Desmond. The same can be understood for Eve, because she is the mother of this bloodline. Therefore, it can be deducted that these two are just the beginning of everything else, and that the fact that they escaped and started the bloodline is the only relevance to the plot.

As for Lucy? I think both guesses could be correct. [More explained later.]

With Lucy as a Templar double agent, it would make complete sense for 16 to say that "she" is Lucy, AND for Juno to have said that Desmond must open the path which is darkened by the cross, and to balance the scales. If the scales were tipped in the Templars' favour by letting one of their spies follow Desmond, he would regain the balance by killing off this informant. After the Templars find out she's dead, they memorialize her and bury her in a mausoleum, then completely forget she ever existed. Seems like something Abstergo would do.

4/Rel 3)Again, I agree with the first part of this statement, and that Desmond himself actually isn't the protagonist, rather his son is. Subject 16, the voice of The Truth, states "The sun... Your son."

I think Lucy could be his mother, and that the stabbing of Lucy would create a temporary fictitious time paradox for the protagonist. Since we do not see what happens after this, the shock that the protagonist goes into may just be leading into the possibility of Desmond finding the Shroud later (The Piece of Eden with the power of resurrection). Since we do not know if Lucy is dead but can safely assume that she is, Desmond would logically try to rescue her from the dead (which I will assume is Eden) by using the Shroud to bring her back. Subject 16 says, "She... in Eden. Find Eve. The Key. Her DNA." Since Eden itself is a utopia and therefore does not exist, I can only assume that Eden is the true representation of what Christianity refers to as Heaven. Therefore, Desmond would use the Shroud to manipulate death in his favour, break INTO the kingdom of Eden, and rescue Lucy from it. Lucy, being consumed with fear of what death was like for her, and no longer being a Templar, would change her ways and become who she was born to be as her true self; Eve's incarnate. This would be a perfect explanation of why exactly Juno said that "She lies not within our sight. The cross darkens the horizon. Only she remains to be found. Awaken the sixth. ALONE!" By resurrecting Lucy with the Shroud, Desmond would purify her soul and awaken the knowledge of her true past inside of her, allowing them to continue the search for the Temples as Adam and Eve's incarnates. After THIS point, Lucy would bear Desmond's child, the protagonist.

It also seems short of coincidental that they would name Lucy an irrelevant character who doesn't have anything romantic to do with Desmond; when Juno's alternate name is LUCINA. And Lucina is the goddess of childbirth. And, according to ancient Roman beliefs, one had to sacrifice a part of them to create a child. I believe it would be logical for this storyline to prove that Lucy's sacrifice (temporarily) is her life, and Desmond's is innocence.

5/Rel 3) I too believe that there is a possibility of Erudito being Subject 16. It would clue up everything else I said, because HE would know all of this.

Hopefully what I said comes true, because it at least makes complete sense to me. But, knowing Ubisoft, they'll probably see this post and do the exact opposite of what I've said, and make up a plot twist that still COMPLETELY MAKES PERFECT SENSE.

First of all, you were forced to kill Lucy because there is no way that Desmond could stop the satellite in time unless he had no distractions.

Second, the red path does not necessarily mean that Lucy is a Templar. All that the red path means is that a bleeding Ezio had to stumble up the stairs to the back of the Villa.

Finally, Lucy is most likely a Templar. The fact that you meet her while held captive by the Templar is very incriminating. Also, the unmarked white van was not outside, which implies that they heard about Rebecca's e-mail. You're right about Lucy's e-mails, as well.

The idea that you're playing as Desmond's son is very unlikely. While that might happen in a carefully planned movie, I doubt that "a multicultural team of various religious faiths and beliefs" took a lot of thought before they started writing the plot for AC2 and Brotherhood. Instead, it is probable that the final events (after Lucy's death) simply suggest a random sequence that cannot be explained yet. My two favorite possibilities are 1) that Desmond was recaptured by the Templar and 2) Rebecca and Shaun hospitalized Desmond after he murdered Lucy.

Recap. (sorry I'm so long winded) 1. Lucy is called a traitor. All right let's be honest with ourselves. Do we actually think that one person could infiltrate the Templar order so easily and then just happen to smuggle enough of the animus out completely undetected? Listen, the Assassins are pretty damn good, but they're still human. The gods had Desmond kill Lucy as a safe counter measure to ensure success for whatever they've planned (or rather seen). 2. Subject 16 Have people forgotten about him? He says something along the lines of "she's not who she appears to be" as well. He also says (I may misquote) "Why do we have these gifts, these abilities? Because it's in our blood!" and "The seeds were planted as two worlds became one. Behold the Assassins, the children of two worlds" Don't know about anyone else, but to me that just screams that human and a god got busy and the Assassins (aka the people like Altair, Ezio, Subject 16, and Desmond) have some amount of "god blood" in their veins. **PERSONAL THEORY** I believe, if you all can remember the video from AC2, that Adam (a man) got with Minerva (a god). The chick from that video is shown running with Adam, and I believe shows resemblances to Minerva at the end when Ezio opens the vault. Desmond is also told by the god at the end of brotherhood that he has to find Minerva and Subject 16 says "she's in Eden" and Lucy isn't in Eden, someone else is. Eve or Minerva (Minerva did say that was just one of the many names she has been called). 3. Voices in credits Subject 16 says something about Desmond's son. I have a crazy feeling that this whole time we've in the animus visiting Desmond's memories, via Desmond's son. 4. Cesare Borgia "No man can kill me." Why would he say this when Ezio is literally standing over him ready to kill him? Once again a personal theory, but I believe that the Assassin's aren't the only ones with a little bit of god blood in their veins, Cesare just figured it out sooner. This would also mean that the Templars have a god being that aided them. Makes sense to me, bring me any mythology in the world that contains no stories of gods fighting amongst each other. Please remember these are not true explanations, but just personal theories I have developed. My mind is blown at the end of each game, and this is one helluva series.

ok. 1st - You can't save Lucy through the animus - because it's not used for time travelling, only for surfing through memos. 2nd - I dont think that was shaun in the credits. 3rd - i agree with the person who said it was all a vision. It could be the final warning for desmond, that he shouldnt get involved or take the pieces of eden. 4th(this is a long one) - WE DO NOT KNOW WHICH SIDE ARE WE IN!!! are the assassin's supposed to be errand boys for those who came before? I know they safeguard mankind's freedom and all that. But what if Desmond's destiny is to do the stuff that already happened- like it was planned. Kidnapping, animus1, sixteen puzzles,animus2, apple. Maybe the ancients planned this in order to achieve their goal from the very beginning (after the war). Maybe they are trying to revive their people in order to take controll (again) 5th - Lucy died because the ones who came before thought she will hold desmond back from his destiny (which is unknown to us). In the end this story is all about freedom and self-determination. Desmond will choose to save Lucy instead of following "their" orders. I think also that the great war in the first civilization will happen again. Who knows? maybe the templars actually know the plans of the ones who came before and they are actually the good guys. 6th- The sun is not the biggest threat. If desmond saves the earth, then what? It doesnt solve the templar problem. Maybe this is the plan of the ones who came before, since they see us as imperfect beings (That lady was talking about the 6th sense in the vault - all knowing) they will come and rule over us again. BUT since the assassin's are the guardians of freedom, it's going to be the past war all over again. These stuff i just said are not explanations, since no one has finished the whole series yet. I am just assuming or guessing. But this might give you an idea on what the true story is.

    1. Nothing about his Templar, and possibly Assassin heritage forced him to kill Lucy. Minerva took control of Desmond through the Apple.

    2. Humans were slaves to Those That Came Before, Adam and Eve were half breeds of Humans, and Those That Came Before. Desmond being Adam is unlikely, though him being a modern version of Adam is plausible.

    3. Highly unlikely to this point The Apple can show the future, or possible futures no reference is made about changing what's already happened.

    4. Is a bit more tricky, Lucy is quite possibly a Templar, though she made an Assassin hand gesture in AC1, and left her ID pen for you to check her emails, with an Assassin email telling that they would soon recover her, and Desmond (though this could have been staged). The idea of Subject 16 being Erudito could only make since if he was able to use the apple himself, thus giving him knowledge of future events and able to set up everything for Desmond. This is possible because I've heard there are at least five Apples. The red path in going around Villa Auditore is the path Ezio took while defending Claudia during Cesare's siege. Lucy's emails with William are not unique. Shaun also gets emails from William, making them both Templar, or both innocent, your call.

I had a theory that Lucy, Shaun, and Rebecca were all Templars, and that Desmond's "escape" was staged just to give him a sense of security. The ending of Brotherhood shot that down.

:EDIT: New theory Lucy is not a Templar, but poses an emotional threat to Desmond. He should only be emotionally attached to "Her" (reference The Truth AC:B). Lucy would have had to be removed, so that Desmond could be free to be in harmony, unison, love(?), with Her.

Too many dumb theories. No one is a Templar in the gang, they're all Assassin's, it's clear. There is no such thing as Templar and Assassin blood, it all matters on which side you are raised, doesn't matter if you are born in to it. Altairs wife was a Templar and she joined the Assassins anyway.

Why did he stab Lucy? Probably so he isn't held back by her, Juno clearly states that they are doing it for his own good and that there is something he must do alone, so he can't be held back. There's no reason to come up with these crazy theories.

Yes, when I saw the ending, I was on the edge of my seat completely... AC really does mess up your mind with its endings.. they make you just want more!!

Okay, so Juno, one of the 'Those Before Who Came', takes control right of Desmonds body and makes him stab Lucy with his hidden blade.

Apparently, if you recall, she said something along the lines of 'to get rid of the dark ones'... and the 'one who stands in your way' something like that, and so she has him stab her to ''balance the scales'' (What does that even mean?? lol) And Subject 16 did say to 'watch out for Eve.. she is not what you think she is..' So I have a hunch Lucy COULD'VE been a Templar.. however, now that Desmond is in the hands of two unknown men, who could be Templars or even Assassins, we won't know for sure until the sequel.. and what of Shaun and Rebecca?

But, we'll only know for sure as well is if Desmond meets Subject 16 again... as fans of the series, we want and need answers and we want them now!! Come on, 16...

Hey man, i feel the same way.. WTFFFFFF!!!!

    This is my thought:

What is the last scene that occurs? Desmond fainting.

What are the final words we hear? ****! He's gone into shock!

These are VERY similar events/actions that occur at the same time.

Therefore i believe you are living a dream within a dream (like inception) and the person you are (probably Desmond's son) has gone into shock after witnessing this event leaving Desmond to faint.

Lucy is blocking Desmond from achieving his goal. She is not "the one" as she "darkens the horizon." (The possibility of success)

Desmond would never kill Lucy by himself, and therefore Juno used the Piece of Eden (POE) to do it for him. She knew that Desmond (and all humans) search for power, and Desmond would always want to find the eden so Juno used the POE to do this.

I think she is a templar, she is too comforting and soft in such a desperate time, wanting Desmond to do his best in order to help abstergo.

    Its crazy isnt it?

Some interesting answers. Here are a couple of my thoughts.

Lucy might have been a Templar, but she never appeared red in Eagle Eye. The steps to the Villa are not likely hers, but more likely Ezio's trail from when he retreated back to the Villa during the attack. After all, you find his relics scattered about the rest of the town, so it's not a stretch to see bloody foot prints.

I think the reason Desmond has to kill Lucy is because they're developing feelings for each other, and she's not the person he's supposed to have a kid with. He is instructed by Subject 16 to find Eve, in Eden (my interpretation of "The Truth"), and that her DNA and their son is crucial.

Subject 16 also says, "It's too late to save them." Which leads me to another thing (try to follow me here)...

I think there are two more games before the big reveal. The game ends about two months before December 21, 2012. When they release a game in about two years, our time will have caught up with the video game's time. So I think that will lead to something pretty significant with the game storyline. Halo has proved that you can end the main storyline and still have awesome games that come afterwards.

Given this, I believe that while Desmond's son is important, he is not stuck in an animus playing as Desmond who is playing as Ezio. The world is coming to an end in two months, and Desmond hasn't found his mate, yet. The son is important for some reason, but there's simply not enough time for the son to save the world. So on that note, I think Desmond is the main guy here. He was going into shock from his encounter with the Apple and was thrown back into the Animus. If his son had been thrown back into an Animus, we probably wouldn't have gone back to Renaissance Rome, we would've gone back to 2012. They think Desmond is going crazy due to the Bleeding Effect, and until they talk to him they won't know the Apple compelled him to stab Lucy. Remember, when Desmond asked if anyone else in that chamber could hear Juno, they didn't know what he was talking about.

I think what we'll find out when the game in 2012 (unless something significant changes), is that Desmond cannot save the world. 2012 prophecy, some of them anyway, hint that the world will not end, but it will rather be a new beginning. I think Desmond's son is probably the new beginning, for whatever reason. So unless Desmond finds a way to defy what Subject 16 and Juno are telling him, the world is ending, and the way forward is to find Eden, locate Eve, and eventually have a son.

We could possibly discover Eden through the other temples that they're supposed to find. I wouldn't be surprised if the next game involved locating the Temples and finding Eve at the end of the game, and the next game could revolve around Desmond and "Eve" somehow saving the world, and having a kid in the process.

Someone mentioned being bummed out that Desmond is thrown indefinitely into the Animus at the end of the game. Keep in mind, it is a video game, and one the developers wanted you to be able to play indefinitely, as was the case with the first two games. So they simply came up with an excuse to throw Desmond back into the Animus. Open world games hinge on the ability to play for as long as you want, and be able to go back and complete every collection and mission and so on.

So does any of that make sense?
