Quadratics...positive definite, negative definite, indefinite?

I'm just wondering what the terms actually mean, because the question says "For the quadratic expressions in question 2, decide whether they are positive definite, negative definite or indefinite."

I'm not asking for the answer, just the definitions.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Positive definite means the answer is positive and is a rational number. Negative definite means the answer is negative, but is a rational number. Indefinite means the answer either cannot be found or repeats forever.

Indefinite articles in Spanish are: un - a/an (masculine) una - a/an (feminine) unas - some (feminine) unos - some (masculine) As they are "a/some" they are not specific and indefinite. Definite articles are: la - the (feminine) el - the (mascule) los - those (masculine) las - those (feminine) as they refer to specific objects, they are definite
