Even if you join the Infantry you will still have the chance to earn some more qualifications while you are in service, you just have to use your SLC and ELC's and your own initiative.
You'll also have your resettlement course to do when you want to leave. Another job you could go into is CP - close protection or work for the fire or police service (CO19). Another could be MI5 or MI6.
Best of luck.
Edit - If you ever get the chance to learn some trade work, e.g electrics then E.ON has a ex forces scheme, my electrical instructor used to work for them as a Cable jointer and he used to earn £-75-80,000.

It depends entirely upon your role within the infantry, they are not just trained as soldiers, the majority are trained as tradesmen, so if for instance you choose to be a signaller you'll recieve qualifications in telecommunications, if you become an assault pioneer you'll recieve construction qualifications, if you manage to become an NCO you may get management or teaching qualifications, almost every role within in the infantry will give you experience you can take back into the civilian world. I cannot obviously detail every one of these specialisations so i'll put a link below for the infantry part of the MOD website, if you take a look at each regiments section they'll all have a little bit about careers within them, good luck

Well my plan is to go private. Contract bodyguarding and protection work in Iraq and Afghanistan really pays...
A standard ex-infantry fella can go out and in maybe 6 months' work CAN earn a standard salary of £30,000 a year, but if you ever go for and make the SAS, they come out and DO get at least £50,000 for the same work, but some have managed £100,000 for some of the work they do.
In the non-combat world, basically whatever you're qualified in will sort you out. You won't end up as a lawyer (unless you go to university of course) but plumbing pays well, telecommunications, construction. They can all be high-earners if you know what to do and have a business-mind.

There are loads of oportunities for ex forces people when they leave the mob, many of them excellent pay and conditions, bosses will snap you up. If you can learn a trade whilst serving such as mech / elect or fitting, diesel fitter or something like that, then the world is massive on the jobs front when you go back to civvie street.
