When the laptop is scanning for virus, can I still watch video, read, type, etc? Please help. Thanks

Yes you can but it will slow the system because it uses most of the resources for the scan and it moves blocks of information from one sector to another.

You can but it will be very slow. The system scan uses most of the hard disks speed while it's running.

yep, i use it whenever it scans and nothing bad happens. if your not supposed to, it will say that.
