2002 dodge neon trans?

I have a code for gear ratio 1-2 what does that mean do I need to replace trans or just some sensors?

Start by checking the trans fluid. Make sure the level is correct and see how dark it is. Fluid should be red in color. If it is dark and smells burnt, you most likely have burnt clutches internally. If it is red and doesn't smell burnt, you most likely have a bad speed sensor. The Neon is a very good vehicle. I know many people who have gotten over 200,000 miles on theirs without major problems. Don't listen to people who knock down Dodges. You could have a bad experience with any kind of vehicle.

you need to have someone diagnose it for you, unless you just want to start buying parts for it that it might not need,if that's the case i could tell you a ton of parts to buy that wouldn't help it any, truthfully that could be something as simple as a speed sensor or a bad connection causing that too happen, save your self some money take it and let a transmission shop test drive it before you buy anything for it,good luck with it

try to reset the code and see if it comes back and go from there. if it comes back on it can be fixed without replacing the trans.

No replace the dodge with any other vehicle!
