    They started in early 2005. Conan O'Brien was telling a lot of Chuck Norris jokes on his show then which may have started the fad.

    In the beginning, there was Chuck Norris. God wanted to take 10 days to make the universe, but Chuck only gave Him 6 (told Him he could take the next day off though, never say Chuck Norris doesn't have a heart)...
