how to show/tell the guy i'm not interested?

Okay, so, I met this guy at work and we've been chatting (and I've not flirted) and I think he's into me and we're going out tomorrow but I don't think I like him as anything more than a friend. The thing is he seems like a great guy to have as a friend (probably a boyfriend as well but I don't fancy him). I've only known him a few days so I know I should give him a chance tomorrow but just in case, how can I let him down gently if he makes some kind of move? Because I really don't want to lose him as a friend.

give him a chance first to see how things go. just let it all go w/ the flow when you guys go out. but if you still think of him as a friend, then keep it at a FRIEND level only. & only be friendly after that. no flirting or anything. then if he mentions something about more than friends make it clear you just wanna be friends. but if you think of him as more than a friend after you guys hang, good luck (:

It will probably become apparent to him on the date.  When there's no chemistry and your body language suggests that you don't really want anything to do with him, he will likely chalk it up to being blown off.  If he truly is into you though, it will be hard for him to be your friend again.  In the back of his mind, he will always be hoping for something more.  I'm not sure that a friendship is realistic with this guy.
