The WIFI key or password are contained inside your WIFI Router, not Windows 7.

Connect a computer to the router by cable. You can't do this over the wireless link.

Once you have the computer connected open up the DOS command Prompt.

Windows Key + R and type CMD in the box and click on OK.

When the Windows opens Type ipconfig

Take note of the GATEWAY IP address. This is the IP address of your router.

Open a Browser (IE) and type that IP address into the address field.

Then you will have to enter the user name and password for the router.

User name is admin the password may be admin or just leave it blank.

It some cases depending on the model of the router the password may be password.

Once you get into the settings go to the Wireless Security section and you will be able to see the key.

If all this fails you can factory default the router, Find a Paper Clip and on the rear of the router is a small hole. Insert the paper clip and hold the button down for 20 seconds or until the lights on the router start to blink. this procedure will reset the router to factory defaults. NO web key, no wifi security at all. wide open.

The WEP or WPA key for your wireless network is something that would've been established when you set up your wireless router. Use whatever key you used to get your laptop online, because it would've asked you for the same thing.

Source(s): I set up my own wireless network, and I have a PS3 and a Wii that use the network as well as my laptop.
