Something that is awesome but not fun examples?

I'm trying to prove my friend wrong and show that there are things that are awesome but not fun (per say) or vice versa. Help?

    I think you have to know what 'awesome' actually means before you go any further.

    A lightning strike close up is awesome but not fun ... terrifying, yes; fun, no.

    Watching a meteor shower is awesome, but not really fun.

    Playing tick-tac-toe is fun, but not awesome.
