Hello(: I have a question about my iPod?

Hi!(: ok so i moved the itunes songs from my desktop to my laptop (about 4 years old been very good to me(:) using a EXTERNAL hard drive. from there, i successfully was able to listen to the music without having the external hardrive plugged in. The problem: I plugged in my iPod and it read it perfectly well. When i tried to put a song into my iPod, it said the file could not be found. Also, when i tried to play the songs from my iPod on the computer, the computer just sat there. What can I do to fix this? Thanks very much(:

ITunes is a source format service... when you plugged and played from your external hard drive that's where the files are located according to iTunes... plug in the hard drive, make a folder on your laptop and move all the songs into the folder you made and play them from there to fix the problem

    1. Select all of your music so it is highlighted

    2. Right click

    3. click "Consolidate files"

    4. test iPod again

    *****

    5. IF IT WORKS -->Delete your folder(s) that you brought over from your external drive

I'm not sure if you are wanting to leave it on the external or copy to the new computer. So check out this article.
