Reformat Windows Home Basic to orignial condition?
I have had problems with my Windows Vista Home Basic and had it in the shop twice, and used the system restore twice. I now have some problems with computer and wish to re-format my hard drive ( to it's files and all else ) to the way it was when it was purchased ) I don't care if I lose all other information I have on it.
1. NOTE: When I purchased the Tower and key board I also purchased a Canon all in one Printer and also an Acer Monitor. But the Windows Vista container (box) did not have a Manual or a disk of any kind.
My question would be How can I re-format my computer to its original condition when I purchased it.
Note: I am not concerned in losing any information I have on Computer that I have added or made.
I did not make a back up disk.
Is there a web site that will allow me to down load or enable me to do this
Better yet if there is any MICROSOFT people out there on the net that knows if the Windows Vista Home Basic was supposed to have a disk that would do this that was supposed to have a manual and a disk with it when I purchased it and finally: I do get to re-format computer Will it wipe out all other Junk ? Thank You everyone My alternative is going back to Windows 98

Download the user guide for your computer from the manufacturers support website by the model number of the tower.
Since you did not create the system recovery disc set order them from the manufacturer customer support by model and serial number then use the disc set to re install the original operating system. This writes over the old system (Vista) and re installs a new fresh operating system just like came on the computer. If it has a recovery partition built in you can also use it to do a system recovery/re install, the user guide will tell you how to do this.
That's all I can help with out your posting the brand and model number of the computer.

If your Pc came with Vista already installed, there should be a hidden recovery partition on the hard disk that has all the information on it to restore it to factory condition. Usually this is accessed when you first boot up your PC and you get the blue Bios screen, it should say at the bottom of the screen Pres F?? to restore (the F number depends on the machine , on mine it is F11) This will start the process and follow the prompts. Normally you do not get a manual for Windows anymore its all on line and as I said the recovery is on your hard disk .
