Chevy 4l60e transmission problem HELP?
i have a 98 chevy z71 1/2 ton pick up 4x4 with a 4l60e my rear diff popped in a parking lot the other night sense than the truck won't take off in 3rd or over drive i replaced the diff and the truck still wont manually down shift. but all the gears work if you try to take off in D it just sprins like its in neutral what is this solenoid???

It sounds like you definitely have an issue with your transmission or the electronics. I am a little confused with the question due to you saying all the gears work. If the pop came from the transmission it may have been the low roller clutch. If you can start in manual low then up-shift and have all the gears then the problem is internal, but it should still downshift.
I would suggest you have it checked by a professional, look for a Certified Transmission near you we have locations across the nation.

Check your fluid levels. Sometimes this can have an effect of transmission shifting. Also, does your speedo read out correctly? If it reads zero, you have a loose connection underneath and it won't upshift.
