To the Filipinos in the Philippines!?
Do you think it is really possible for Jesus Christ to be born on December 25? It was winter time, the weather was very cold and Bethlehem was covered with snow. The Bible says that the shepherd were in the field watching their sheep and Jesus was born on a manger because the city was so crowded and there was no place for them to be accommodated? How is it possible?

I guess it is possible-but there are a few things we need to remember:
1. The Bible doesn't say when he was born.
2. We can only 'estimate' what the weather conditions might have been like over 2,000 years ago.
3. If the Date was really important God would have given us the exact date as he did the Jews for all the feasts that they were to follow and the 7th Day Sabbath..there is no doubt of the date of any of these.
I just want to add, there is nothing wrong with picking a day to celebrate the Birth of Christ as long as it is done for Him and brings glory to his name. But leave Santa, Trees, lights all out of it and celebrate by feeding the hungry and giving gifts to the needy (although we as Christians should do this all year long-once a year is better than nothing).
There is also nothing wrong 'not' celebrating (a) day, as is made clear in Romans chapters 14 and 15. My wife and I celebrate no holidays to (as the Bible says) avoid even the appearance of evil.
Sorry I am not a Filipino but my wife is and we are in the Philippines.
Anyway the question is in the wrong category (if you want to get technical)

There is no specific evidence to prove that Jesus Christ is really born in December 25, but that's what mostly been the belief and been celebrated for long, because such date is winter time at Jerusalem, so there is some possibility that such is wrong.
According to Chronology of Jesus;
There were many speculations in the 2nd century about the date of Jesus' birth. Clement of Alexandria, towards its close, mentions several such, and condemns them as superstitions. Some chronologists, he says, alleged the birth to have occurred in the twenty-eighth year of Augustus, on the 25th of Pachon, the Egyptian month (May 20). These were probably the Basilideans. Others set it on the 24th or 25th of Pharmuthi (19th or 20 April). Clement himself sets it on November 17, 3 BC.

the country is named Philippines or The Philippines or The Republic of the Philippines. that's was regularly occurring because of the fact the Philippine Islands. i understand that's sometimes puzzling for individuals who have not any previous wisdom of the country or its human beings. the country isn't referred to as Filipinos, it rather is the individuals who're referred to as Filipinos. Filipinas is likewise sometimes used to connote the female inhabitants yet that gets you extra puzzled because of the fact the country interior the vernacular is named Pilipinas (with a P). wish that helps. deliver me an digital mail for the different appropriate question.

Wintertime in Jerusalem isn't until January-February. Also, snow is rare there. It's not a yearly thing.
According to the Bible, there were a lot of people in Jerusalem at that time because it was census time. Everyone has to be registered, that's why Joseph and Mary travelled all the way from Nazareth.
Yes, I can believe Jesus was born December 25.
Merry Christmas.

Good question - an open invitation for quarrels between those who believe and those who don't. I'd rather deal on the bulk of this privately with you if you like by email. December 25 is the birth of many messiahs such as Mithra who was born to a virgin mother (National Geographic Channel) during the time of the Romans. He had a final meal, and was resurrected after he died. His blood as the blood of the divine bull being shared by his followers during Mithraic ceremonies. Also in China, Fu Xi was conceived by a virgin mother when stepped in a god's footprint.

i've read an article once that Christ was really born on the 10th month and not the 12th... the reason for this was when the emperor of rome constantine was revising the bible and the calendar there was such confusion that happened along the way. for example, September and october has the latin numerical prfix of Septa and Octo which suggests that they are the 7th and 8th month rather that the 9th and 10th month... Dec. 25 just became a tradition, so everyone just follows it, just to commemorate the birth of Christ and not celebrating it on the day itself.

That crap can't be found anywhere in the Bible, even if you flip from cover to cover.
Why do you think God didn't let anyone scribe the exact date of Jesus' birthdate? Because he didn't want anyone to celebrate it. If he did want us to celebrate it then he would've commanded the apostles to write it.
No history of the early Christians ever showed them celebrating Jesus' day of birth. Paul never said anything about it, and he's the last apostle. If it was so darn big (as the Catholic's treat it), then how come it's never mentioned anywhere in the bible?

Its possible but I don't really care. Christ is born and that's what matters. Its tradition that makes us celebrate it on the 25th and I'm okay with it. Christmas can be celebrated anytime of the year as long as you have love to share....awwwwww! but if you really want some explanation, please check these links:

There might be a string of explanations for the date itself, but ultimately it doesn't matter.

The bible is just a fairy tale. It's not based on fact but most Pinoys do because of colonial mentality and religious delusion.
