how to write this as an equation?

A phone company charges 26.95 a month with .24 cents per minute. but you get a 100 free minute

Update:

That doesn't include the first 100 minutes free in the equation though, I know 26.95 + .24x but i need another piece.

    You would pay $26.95 for the first 100 minutes

    After 100 minutes:

    Let x = minutes

    Total = .24(every minute after 100) + monthly charge

    y = .24(x - 100) + 26.95

    The (x - 100) would give you the number of minutes you will be charged for

    Example; if you call 137 minutes, you are charged for 137 - 100 or 37 minutes because the 1st 100 minutes are free

    So the equation is

    y = .24(x - 100) + 26.95 for every minute over 100
