My children and myself are veggies. It is perfectly safe and healthy to do so. They are lean, strong and very athletic.
You don't know how many times some one would pick up one of my daughters as a baby or toddler and would say "oh, she's really sturdy and strong feeling".......they were surprised because my girls are petite and thin.
There are PLENTY of excellent resources available for nutrition information and how to's for adult and children vegetarians.

What michele loose said is a load of bs - it Is not only safe to raise a veg baby but they are likely to be the healthiest kid in their class. As with any childs diet you should make sure they are getting the proper nutrients. Check out the book new vegetarian baby - it is a bit dry but very based in science so you can show it to anyone who gives you a hard time. Join a veg parents group and get used to a&£holes calling you a neglectful parent while their obese child Sits in front of the telly drinking pop. My daughter is very healthy and her very conservative meat eating relatives all keep a close eye on how she is going but they now defend my choice when we are criticised. My second daughter will be veg too.
And this is for those that day we shouldn't inflict our beliefs on to our children.. The amount of meateaters I have met that say they would be veg if they could give up meat is huge, this way they get the best start - like anything inclufi g religion if they decide to eat meat later that is their business but right now I'm giving my kids a foundation in ethical living

Average for rolling is 2-3 months for front to back and 5-6 for back to front.
Lots of babies do both earlier, lots later, but that's average.
Average for babbling is 4 months.
It's perfectly safe to raise baby vegetarian. Lots of cultures don't eat meat.
We are designed to be omnivores but there's nothing unhealthy or unsafe being a veggie.
Meat offers no nutrients that aren't available in other food sources.

I believe around 3-6 months.
And yes, it is technically "safe", but the child will most likely grow up malnourished, and not have correct vitamin, iron, and calcium counts.
