No; just those of disservice, party switchies should be disallowed, they should have to vacate their seat, if or when they cross over, after being elected by the party they left.

Yes but then, in that same meeting of States, create a new one using the lessons we have learned about tying them down with the chains of the Constitution. The new Constitution would be more clear than the one The Founders wrote, on things like having real money, that my labor is Property to me which nobody can tax, severely limit the Commerce Clause and specifically state that most of what the Feds do now will be up to the States to deal with. A beneficial side effect of the dissolution/bankruptcy, will be that the Federal debt will be cancelled and the bankers' notes can be used to insulate houses.

No, they should just get rid of the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats.
Oh, but on second thougtht, that would indeed dissolve the federal government, as there wouldn't be anyone left in it.

Probably, All it really provides is military, corruption, and laws that are not decided (and sometimes unwanted) by the people
It's pretty hard to manage a nation as big as ours. We'd be better off as 50 allied countries, than 50 states of a poisoned union.
People would certainly sort them selves out quickly enough. I have a feeling Utah would become "Mormania" Florida would become "Geriatria" Oregon-"Athia", Michigan-"Michilitia"
Just my 2 cents.

Following who is #1's thoughts, the new federal government would be severely limited in size gaining taxes on imports/exports only and scope of duties; uniform roadway structures, signs, lights, etc.; the president would act as a US ambassador, with no war or other powers; congress would be paid by their constituents only, no consecutive terms, two years for both houses, no lawyers in either body since they own the judicial branch, fewer laws, all understandable (common law), SCOTUS must determine constitutionality of all legislation before a vote, one subject per bill as in England (end compromised voting), all bills submitted must carry the majority of active constituents approval in their district (this may not be the majority of district voters), would reduce lobbying influence; federal government holds no land in any state; states sell one acre for $100 land free and clear of taxation to anyone not owning land; no property taxes period; abolish marital law under any circumstance; legalize drugs, prostitution and gambling; abolish the draft; make licensing voluntary; abolish taxation of all property and sales taxes; mandate that all government employees operate under the same rules as the civilian population; no exceptions; abolish presidential pardons; abolish the death penalty, use solitary confinement instead, make all prisoners garden for the bulk of their food needs, make families and volunteer organizations supplement food, clothing, shelter and reparation costs, not the general public; abolish FDA, public education and all government secrecy; forbid all entangling alliances, forbid all foreign troops on US soil; use letters of marque and reprisal before any declaration of war; promote innovation and good will; ban government programs which compete with anything in the market place (ie gambling/lotteries); ban all government bailouts; require all public servants to live and work out of their home residence which must be in their district (negates influence from lobbyists); mandate secure voting for all public officials from their homes via internet, phone, or letter carrier; require all public servants to buy their own vehicles and use personal wages to pay for all trips; remain on daylight savings time year round.

Absolutely! For those who disagree, I would challenge you to read "Democracy: The God That Failed" by Hans Hoppe and "The Ethics of Liberty" by Murray Rothbard.

Well, looking at history....
Between Independence and the Constitution, the US had a very small Federal government. Every state did their own thing.
It was a failure, which is what lead to the Constitution. Which attempted to find the right balance.

I think a reimagining of the state is an interesting idea, but dissolution is silly.
