How would Jesus vote on health care?
This is a purely hypothetical situation:
Let's say Senate is voting on universal health care for everyone. But, the yes and no votes are tied and they bring in a special guest: Jesus Christ. Jesus has to choose between private health care for those who can afford it, and public health care for everyone regardless of financial status.
How would he vote?

I need to know how many Dilettante Truffles come in a 24oz container. I could also figure it out if anyone knows the exact weight of an individually wrapped truffle.
1 AnswerOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoA Question on Piracy?
Im curious on this subject,
Let's say I buy a dvd online. It's supposed to arrive in 1-2 weeks, but I don't want to wait. Am I legally within my rights to download the movie online (not sharing it)?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhen is it ok to Wear a Kilt?
Im an American of mostly Scottish decent. I want to try a kilt, but im not sure of when it is appropriate to do so.
Im also a little worried about getting jeers and leers. Are kilts widely accepted men's clothing, or are they, in the US, pretty much only worn on special occasions?
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories1 decade agoName this movie family...?
Ok, I remember very little, but it may be enough to jar some memories.
I think it had something to do with a vacation or camping. It was about a family.
The dad met the mom while he was holding a yard sale. The mom found a very very expensive rocking chair, but the dad wasn't sure about selling it. as an attempt to get the chair very cheaply she says that she only intended to use the chair as firewood, The future father, in an attempt at chivalry chops up the priceless chair and give it to his future wife.
The dad may have been played by the wet bandit that *isn't* Joe Pesci. But im not sure.

1 AnswerUnited States1 decade agoDid anyone else hate the ending for Human Centipede?
While in general, the movie wasn't that great, the ending really just made me rage. The Japanese man was trying to break the window with the lamp, when the evil doctor crawls in the room. For whatever reason, he puts down the LONG, HEAVY, BLUNT OBJECT and opts for a silver dollar sized shard of glass vs the doctors scalpel. What the hell. I know it's just a movie, but when are writers going to fix blatant stupidity. There were several logistic holes in the movie, but this one shined about the rest in my opinion.
Thoughts?
2 AnswersMovies1 decade agoCould we improve the keyboard?
I work in data entry, and I have to say, the layout of a modern keyboard can make me very frustrated. I propose the following improvements:
1. Replace the numlock key, with a second backspace key. You could even move the numlock key up, with the led light in the key.
2. Replace the capslock key with the tab key. Then add a "Tab Up" key where the original was. Move the capslock key somewhere where it wont be struck in error.
What do you think of these ideas? Have any of your own?
I just get so frustrated.
1 AnswerOther - Hardware1 decade agoWas I screwed over or is this fair?
So things were looking up for my family. We welcomed our first child into the world and I started my work at a brand new job. Things were really great, but we were struggling financially, so we applied for food stamps. We were approved for $450 dollars/month. It was a total blessing! We ate great healthy home-cooked meals every night. Then to make thing better, i got a $1/hour raise! I reported my new income to DSHS like they told me I should. They than told me that my extra 160/month made me completely ineligible to receive benefits anymore. Now we skip meals... ugh.
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhat's the Best Halo: Reach Multiplayer Strategy?
I bought Halo: Reach last week. The multiplayer is much more challenging than the former. It seems to me like the only way to score points is to pair up with someone in team slayer and roll together the entire time. The main weapon (the full auto spartan one) just seems weak compared to Halo 3's. Is that the best way to go about it?
Also, im wondering about the DMR. Is it better to aim for the chest until the shield is gone, then aim at the head? How can you tell when the have no more shield?
4 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoWhy don't high schools teach useful skills?
Now that ive been out of high school for almost 6 years I realized that there are many things I was never taught that would have been extremely useful, but never was. There were even more classes I took that were entirely useless.
I never had any intention of becoming a chemist. Why did I take chemistry? I would have been much better off in home economics where I could learn much more practical skills that were not completely useless outside a classroom.
Why don't high schools have classes that teach you how to do real-life things such as:
Fix a leaky faucet
Change a flat tire/perform general auto maintenance.
Read and understand a contract
Where/How to apply for a loan and not get screwed by it.
There really was nothing in high school that prepared me for adulthood. Reading Of Mice and Men, was great, but I could have dont that on my own time instead of wasting an entire month of school on it.
4 AnswersTeaching1 decade agoCan I get back to School?
So, I dropped out of high school my Junior year, Ive worked in various places since then, I have a 10 month old daughter, and I am the family's primary source of income. I dont make much, but not too bad, but what I really want to do is go back to school. This is where im stuck. I dont know where to begin. We cant afford rent/heat/food If I dont work, but if I dont get some higher form of education, we will never cease living paycheck to paycheck like we do now. I have no idea how i could ever afford to go to school for 4 years and make rent. Any suggestions, advice?

A co worker told me that Ivan IV commissioned an architect to design some buildings, then removed his eyes so he could not see his work/design again. This seems kind of campy, but sometimes history is stranger than fiction. If it's true please cite a source.
6 AnswersTrivia1 decade agoIs this Pregnancy Discrimination?
Here are the facts:
My sister i law was hired at Winco as a cashier clerk in June.
She found out she was pregnant about a month ago by a home test.
3 weeks ago she visited a doctor for an ultrasound and confirmed it. The doctor issued her a note, asking the company to make sure she does not lift more than 30 pounds.
She was working an average of 35 hours a week before she was pregnant.
She was removed from the schedule 2 weeks ago and has not worked a shift since. The company will not tell her why she has been removed, but insits she has not been fired.
What can she do? who can she talk to that can offer some advice, as she has no income now?
7 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhy Did Doc Take The Tracks?
In Back to the Future 3, Doc goes back to 1985 via a flying train, if the train flies, why did he go on the tracks. If a 1985 train was coming, this could have resulted in serious injury to himself, his kids, and his wife. Marty almost got crushed moments earlier, what if he came out of time and crushed Marty? I understand he may not want to be seen, but he flew off into the sky at the end anyway? Why take the risk?
2 AnswersJokes & Riddles1 decade agoIs The USA Too Regulated?
I cant help but feel things have sort of spiraled out of control all over this nation. I don't like the state telling me what I should eat, what I can or cannot put in my body, where I travel, what or I can or cannot hunt (for food, not sport), who i can marry, and what crops I can grow. It's illegal to be a mountain man? This would hardly be the nation our founders envisioned, nor do I think they intended for people to become career politicians, the way they are today. The US government controls every aspect of my life. I feel like a bug under a boot.
I understand that we have all these wonderful roads, cities, jobs, and all that, but what if I don't want it. I never chose to be born, I simply am here. Why should I be subject to asinine laws and regulations that are in place "for my safety". I cant even build a dividing wall w/o say so from the city. I am an adult. I can be safe, and if im not, and I get hurt, it's my own damn fault.
I have no political association by the way, don't label me.
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoIs Feminism Killing my Family?
So I am a working male, in a committed relationship. We live together, have a 9 month old child together, and I am the primary source of income. Her job, nights, part time, at a restaurant does not pay much, but it "gets her out of the house" as she says. Every weekday within seconds of my arrival home, she leaves, and i care for our daughter until she falls asleep. this is a very exhausting lifestyle for me, and I only ask her a few simple things to do on a regular basis: Laundry, dishes. But she refuses to do them. I asked for an explanation and she replied "It's sexist."
This comment got me thinking. And while before that moment of clarity I would never consider my self to be sexist, I realize that by the words definition, i became one almost instantly. Did feminism destroy the family? I certainly don't feel superior to women, but i cant help but feel that when women declare themselves to be above household chores because of a 1950's stereotype, they are belittling the work and time I put in to make our family survive.
As a person who is constantly trying to make sense out of the world I am absolutely confused on how to handle this situation. I would do these chores myself if I wasn't exhausted when I get home. It also doesn't help that when i ask why she didn't take care of this stuff it's because she was watching a movie... is there a third solution?
