Is The USA Too Regulated?

I cant help but feel things have sort of spiraled out of control all over this nation. I don't like the state telling me what I should eat, what I can or cannot put in my body, where I travel, what or I can or cannot hunt (for food, not sport), who i can marry, and what crops I can grow. It's illegal to be a mountain man? This would hardly be the nation our founders envisioned, nor do I think they intended for people to become career politicians, the way they are today. The US government controls every aspect of my life. I feel like a bug under a boot.

I understand that we have all these wonderful roads, cities, jobs, and all that, but what if I don't want it. I never chose to be born, I simply am here. Why should I be subject to asinine laws and regulations that are in place "for my safety". I cant even build a dividing wall w/o say so from the city. I am an adult. I can be safe, and if im not, and I get hurt, it's my own damn fault.

I have no political association by the way, don't label me.

    It's called a Nanny State.

    In reality, it is tyranny.

Democrats AND Republicans are responsible for it.

EDIT: "summertime" missed the intent of the question.

If you look back at history you will find very few times and places where people were truly free to do as they pleased and where they existed it usually looked like Somalia does now. Local government have always harassed people and the war on terror and unhappiness with illegal immigration is making things worse on the federal level in the last ten years. However to a surprising degree you can still live much as you please if you know which rules must be obeyed and which ones you can safely ignore.

People are regulated and big businesses are unregulated. It should be the other way about.
