What is my ancestry please?

I need to know for a school project. My last name is Robinett if that helps. And my other part of my family is part Swedish if that helps too.

You don't research family history by your surname...many people in the world have the same surname and they are not all related to you......and before you start researching in Sweden you need to know the names and dates of the people who ARE part of your family before you can find the right ones....so as your teacher seems to have given you something that takes years to research correctly they clearly have little or no understanding AT ALL about family history.....it seems they believe adverts on TV that tells you that you put your name into a website and click the magic button and your family tree is all there waiting for you............ you start with yourself and work back looking at primary records in your own home and in the homes of your relations..that way you get to know your family so it is easier to find dead ancestors who you can't ask questions of in records...this website will help you http://familytimeline.webs.com/recordsinyourownhom... and get you back 3-4 generations and it is more likely to be correct than searching online, guessing and writing down names which bear no relation to each other....which may make a pretty tree but not YOUR family tree

Robinett will only get you so far; it looks like some sort of "degraded" French to me, possibly English...but without knowing anything at all about you, who can say for sure? Last names aren't always a good indicator of genetic heritage (for example, my last name is clearly German, but I've never heard of any family being from Germany.)

Sounds to me like this is the sort of project you actually need to do some work on, and not just ask a stranger on the internet.

Learn something about yourself. Learn where you came from.

    Robinett Name Meaning and History

    French: see Robinette.

    Robinette Name Meaning and History

Canadian spelling of French Robinet, a pet form of Robin. The spelling reflects the Canadian practice of pronouncing the final -t, a practice not followed in France.

That reveals a lot. If your grandfather was a tall, red-headed man from Quebec, that scar on his cheek, and a couple more that won't show until he goes bald, was from me. He gave as good as he got; I have limped since that day, and my knee aches in cold weather. Your grandmother, Diana Marie, was the cheerleader for our high school hockey team. We fought over her favors. It was supposed to be to the death, but she begged us to stop when neither of us could see too well, due to the blood in our eyes. She was afraid we'd hurt a bystander with a wild swing.

I would suggest that you actually do the research and that Familysearch.org, or a Family History Center would be of great help. With the information you gave, no one could possibly give you more than a quess or an indication of the origin of your surname, which is not an ancestry, Genealogy, lineage, pedigree, chart, or tree.
