what is a good digital camera?
I'm asking for a camera for my birthday, and I want to go look at some before-hand. I was looking for something not too expensive, and was hoping for just a small, digital camera. I was going to go look at Best Buy and other electronic stores, but I was hoping to get some suggestions on good brands and other information. Thanks so much!!

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP1 is great for carrying around on a trip or to take pics of kids. It is portable, the battery lasts a long time, and it has a lot of options. I am able to use it for normal snapshots and also manually adjust settings for good pictures in extreme light. I also like the ability to choose how it decides to focus if I want to bother. Picture quality seems good so far.

Anything by Canon. Canon point-and-shoot cameras take the absolute best photos in the category.
