does anyone know how i can make parchment? (read detail please!!)?
so... my bff has her birthday in a week and i already wrote a letter (in rough i mean). I was thinking maybe i could give it to her on an old-style parchment kinda thing.
I read in a magazine that if i dip a crumpled piece of paper in tea leaves i'd be able to achieve that effect but it didn't work. Does anyone have any ideas???
If not then i'd appreciate ideas of i can present a letter in a different way (im BAD at drawing btw).
Please help!!!

The tea does work ,maybe you did not do it the right way. Lay out your paper on a table top, and then boil tea until it gets real dark. Coffee works just as well as tea, you can do both if you want to,then take a tea spoon full of tea and or coffee or both. and just pour it on different parts of the paper and let it soak in and dry then take some ashes from a burnt piece of paper and rub it into the paper. next take a lighter or match and burn the edges of your paper at different spots on the edges. believe me when you are done with it, it will look old like parchment. Then write your letter on it.Crumple it up when you are all done with the whole thing and then lay it flat and push out the creases. Also if you want you could glue two wooden dowels at top and bottom of it and roll it up like a scroll, and tie a ribbon around the middle of it and it will even be more unique and old.
Good luck with it .

You can buy aged looking parchment paper at most art and craft supply stores. This is NOT the same thing as the parchment paper used in baking.
