why are like quark pairs not seen experimentally?

why cant you get two like quarks in a pair e.g two up quarks?

    Quarks can only exist in nature as hadron components. So when we do see them, as the by products of colliding hadrons, they are only fleeting glimpses and then as individual quarks. Remember, what you propose, would put quarks of like charge together. And what happens when like charges are brought together... they are repelled.
