Blu Ray with older Denon AV receiver? -- advice please?

I have a several year old Denon AVR 3805 Home Theater receiver -- which works perfectly. However, it does not have HDMI hookup capability. Is there any point in my getting a Blu Ray player, if my receiver does not have HDMI connection? Will I still be able to get Blu Ray quality video without HDMI? TV is brand new Panasonic Viera G25 (1080p) plasma.

Thanks

hi jeffyb...if you desire to keep your denon amp.... there are switcher/converter boxes and hdmi to optical cables etc but they are available in the hundreds of dollars...so to link up your amp and new tv( I did a search on your tv it is not 3d compatible so you will not be required to use 1.4v hdmi cable).....you need a cable that has a optical digital connector on one end to plug into your optical out on your amp...and then on the other end is a 1.3v hdmi connector and you connect this to a switcher/convertor box and these boxes can have multiple outputs to go to your new tv and a blu ray player and other hdmi components that you may want in the near future...so this weighs up money wise about the same against buying a new amplifier!...anyhow... call these guys here on 800-841-9238 at hdtv supply and explain about your amp what you would like to connect it to and they may have something that is a bit more realistic in $$$... and another option is to connect your amp,tv and new blu ray via digital (optical) -s-video or component rca cables and of course you will have a audio/visual difference ......but the component is still a good quality ....so these two options are hdmi vs component connection....I would personally update to a new amplifier/reciever....but these are your options to choose from....I hope this helps in someway.
