These animals will never get in contact with each other. It really depends on the environment they are in. If its on the polar bears turf and theres nothing but a huge plain of snow the silverback gorilla would be slowed down by the cold and would be forced to meet the bear in frontal combat, in which the bear would obviously win. If it was on the silverback's turf with a forest with trees and etc, the silverback would have more mobility than the bear so the bear might get stuck between trees and might get trapped into an ambush as the gorilla recovers on top of a tree while reinforcements from his pack comes along. But honestly.... if a polar bear was fighting a gorilla... the bear would have to be fighting the whole pack of gorillas.

Even though I am personally a fan of bears I have to side with gorillas on this one. Gorillas are like our backwards cousins on the evolutionary ladder and have more rudimentary problem solving skills and can be learn to use some basic tools.
The gorilla would likely spend months planning for the fight ahead of time so that it would be thoroughly prepared. One would expect it to come with a makeshift exo-skeleton constructed of very strong branches, vines, and some rocks woven among in certain areas to serve as reinforced body armor.
The gorilla would need to put a heavier emphasis on offense, however, as polar bears are known to construct incredibly effective armor from rare metals. In the polar bear belief system, this armor is tied to them on a spiritual level and is very important. This is a weakness the gorilla should seek to exploit since severely damaging the armor or stealing it prior to the fight and denying the polar bear its use would place it at a great disadvantage.
Also, keep in mind that despite the high quality of polar bear armor they possess a very large girth and are unable to use armor that covers the majority of their body as this would hinder their mobility too much. The gorilla would probably use one of its concealed wrist-launchers to fire an explosive dart into the polar bear's soft, unprotected underbelly when it reared up to attack.
The polar bear would be forced to rely mostly on its brute strength and the knockdown power of its huge bear mass.

A polar bear would decide not to f___ around with a gorilla.
That is probably because a gorilla will not back down because its got a territorial thing. At the same time, its probably not going to chase after a polar bear and try to eat its cubs.

I was gonna say silver back on strength but polar bears are good fighters, they train a lot in play fighting so I'd take the polar bear.

polar bear is bigger, stronger, meaner and thick skin for defense. gorilla lives in the mountains, eats leaves, and has the smallest penis of any animal.
