Why do people doubt the Chicago Bears?

Question

I'll go back to the most recent season where the Chicago Bears were as good (record wise) as they are now. Back in 2006 when they finished 13-3

How come back in 2006 they were seen as dominant and a powerhouse?
Is it because their defense was one of the best in the NFL?
Was it because their special teams were outstanding?
or was it because their run game was above average?
were their wide receivers good?

What I'm getting at is, The Chicago Bears face a lot of hate in the media and among the general concensus. "They aren't good" "They are lucky" when in reality. This team compared to its 2006 form, is A) Just as good defensively B) Just as great at special teams C) Has a more competant quarterback D) has an efficient run game with Chestor Taylor and Matt Forte., E) Has better wide receivers then their 2006 days. 

What I'm getting at is, the Chicago Bears aren't being seen as elite because of the doubt Jay Cutler flushed into our minds last season. 26 interceptions and a 7-9 record. But now, with the help of his teammates, the Chicago Bears are one of the rising teams in the league and have deserved to hold the name of a powerhouse in the NFL.

Totally agree with you. I think everybody hate on the bears becuz of not only jay cutler but because on the O-line. He's been sack more times than any other qb this season (like 45 sacks!) With that said, you can understand the doubts about the bears. BUT as long as they keep winning games, no matter how pretty or ugly it is, then they can't do much but give them their respect. I'm a chicago native who've just recently moved. But my heart and pride will always be with DA CITY and DA BEARS!

The reason the Bears don't get more respect is simple: they play a weak schedule. To this point in the season, they've only played 2 decent teams(the Packers back in week 3 & the Eagles in week 11). Until they win games while playing a tougher schedule, they won't be taken seriously.

They are lucky. They beat the lions twice by a combined total of like 5 points. One of those games they actually lost but the refs were terrible. Go Packers!

Because bears fans are the worst. I'm a lions fan the first game of the season we won. Calvin Johnson caught thy fair and simple those refs must suck the bears probbly bribed them every game bears fans suck plan and simple

Mainly because they only have 2 decent wins all season.  They have a soft schedule.
