    check the ingredients

most retail coffee is pure, but some have flavorings added (french vanilla, etc)

    example of pure coffee:

    Folgers:

100% pure coffee labeled on the package

    Maxwell House:

    Made from 100% Arabica beans

    non-pure:

    Millstone french vanilla

100% Premium Arabica Coffee with Added Natural and Artificial Flavors.

No, they do add stuff to it during the roasting process.

Community Coffee, for example, states that it is 100% pure coffee, but it is mixed with hickory. I guess coffee+hickory = pure coffee?

I am allergic to processed coffee. Sometimes organic coffee works. I buy bulk beans at Walmart and grind them myself. But be careful, you can't always trust Wal-Mart employees to stock the right beans in the right bins. You might also try health food and specialty grocery stores.

    Good luck
