This is one of those things to take at face value. It is neither the kiss of death nor does it mean he wants to get with you. It means he respects you as a person, respects your character.

He sees you as a friend but won't give up the chance to get in your pants... If your attactive and he hasn't tried anythin with you then he probably dosnt know how to approach the situation.. Ask him if you want a true answer... Or maybe he likes you but didn't wanna crush his chances with the other girl so he said he respected you instead of he liked you... Cuz I'm sure Ur friend ask him if he likes you or not cuz you guys seem close

It doesn't necessarily mean one or the other, but one of them at least. It means he respects you.

This means that you are not a **** or a one night stand if he does want you (it would involve a more deep/meaningful relationship).

Or he doesn't 'want' you because he respects you (he possibly believes getting in your pants de-values you or something - like you're underage or he's sort of religious).

But yes, he wants to have sex with you (if he 'doesn't', he actually does but is just restraining himself from doing so).

guys cant be grayed into a single stereo type. even though we may be simpler than girls we are not all the same. if told someone that i respected you than what i would really mean by that is....... that i respect you.he might just want to be friends and he might want to get into your pants but him saying he respects you isnt his way of announcing that.

ps. if he says that he respects you than he isnt going to try to "get into your pants" hemight want to have a relationship with you, but most likely it isnt based on raw sexual attraction.
