It's more likely reflection off of something. Since the something can be as small as a pebble, the source might not be obvious (and you'd be surprised at what can do it).

There's always an explanation. Maybe a CD was upside down and reflected the light? Maybe something like a puddle outside reflected the light in such a way?
No mystery other than the explanations you choose to neglect.
