new debit card new debit card number?

Question

Alright everyone..i recently sat on my debit card and as a result snapped it..i know, i know..anyway,i've since sent off for a new one and was just wondering if my new debit card will have a new 16 digit number on it? The reason i'm bothered is due to the fact that i will have to assign my new card to my paypal account,and i know from previous experience that each account has to have a different card...so basically what i'm asking is will my new card have a new 16 digit number?

Update:

If it is the same 16 digit number, how will I go on for registering it to my PayPal acount, as they will not allow another card with the same number?

If you ordered a replacement card it will have the same number.  If you ordered a new card, it will be a completely new debit card number but will still be attached to the same bank account number.

no, the card should have the same # as your old one.  it'll be a duplicate.  it's not like you opened a new bank account, the bank account for the card is the same.  so while you wait for your card to come in the mail, you can use paypal if you had connected paypal to the debit card before.  or you can hook paypal up to your bank account #, same thing.

If you report the card lost/stolen, they issue one with a new number. If you request a replacement for a broken card, they will issue a new card with the same number, just as they would if the card expired.

You DON'T register the new card with PayPal. You EDIT the card information with the new expiration date.

It will have the same 16 number as well as the secure number in the back.  You wouldn't need to update the info on paypal

Its the long number along the front, its 16 digits
