What's the BEsT MeTAL BAnD!?!?

I have three favourites: Caina, Gris and Coldworld. All three play black metal is sme shape or form.

Opeth, Agalloch, Enslaved, Isis, Neurosis, Katatonia

I could easily agree with Electric Wizard, but I think they have past their best years. As far as a band that is currently in their prime, I'd say Riverside. They are progressive metal.

Electric Wizard and Immortal are my favorite metal bands.

Dimmu borgiur, exodus, devildriver, kingdom of sorrow, Chimaira. Omen, Brain drill, Attila, Cradle of filth, Dawn of ashes, Dope, Fleshwrought, Abigail williams, Forbidden, Lamb of god, And Children of bodom. Just few on my list. Try some out.

Since Metallica is the only band in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, they are technically the most successful band. As for best music theory-wise, it would be Kamelot. As for my favorite band, it'd be Dragonforce.

i can now see why none of these answers haven't had even one thumb up.... the reason is that no one have suggested Judas Priest(Metal Gods). they created the base of heavy metal today, if u haven't listened to their music i highly recommend u to download spotify at https://www.spotify.com/se/get-spotify/go/open/#1 and search for judas priest and listen to their songs, if u havent already got spotify.
