Cotto vs Martinez, Top Rank's greediness haults another fight?

Update:

@ Seabiscuit - I look at 2 very good divisions. Featherweight and Junior Welterweight, at JWW there are 4 great fighters(Bradley, Alexander, Khan, and Maidana) with all different promoters with the exception of Top Rank. They are all set up in a semi tournament to face each other. Then you look at FW where there are also 4 great fighters(Lopez, Gamboa, John, and Caballero), 2 of those fighters are promoted by Top Rank(Lopez and Gamboa) I hear nothing but excuses why none of them can fight each other, to me it seems like all the excuses are coming from the Top Rank fighters. Gamboa is one of my favorite fighters, but he should have or at least attempted to fight one of the other 3. TR is constantly saying it's too early for Lopez vs Gamboa, they refused to allow Lopez to fight Caballero because there is not promoted by Top Rank, there's a chance Gamboa might fight John but I get the feeling it's because the John is getting up there in age. John will probably be 40 by the time the

Top Rank is like a mafia organization. Arum is the godfather and Pacman is the mobster.

I read the whole article and I didn't catch where it was Top Rank's fault, it takes two to tango. As usual you are biased towards every action Top Rank does and you will be proven wrong again when a Cotto vs. Margarito earns more money then any of Sergio Martinez's prospective fights. If you were Top Rank would you do a co-promotion with another company because I wouldn't?

The damage in the sport of boxing was already done when Manny agreed on the 14-day cut off and then Floyd went on a long, long, long vacation (still on vacation).

The fight between Cotto and Martinez going into a hault is just a little scratch compared to what Floyd did. If the fight between Manny and Floyd happened, it doesn`t matter if the Cotto vs Martinez happened. The fight between Manny and Floyd would just over shadow the fight between Cotto and Martinez. So again, the fight between Cotto and Martinez going into a hault is just a little scratch compared to what Floyd did.

I can't see Cotto going the distance with Martinez at this stage of his career. Martinez is peaking and Miguel isn't anywhere near his best, it would have been a rough night for Miguel had the fight taken place.

Are you kidding me? I was looking foward to this fight happening! I am starting to hate Top Rank more and more. Ive met Bob Arum and he is a very nice guy, but he needs to start giving the fans what they want. Thats the only problem with boxing these days - - - Sh**** promoters.

i think it is a good move for cotto to accept the fight with margarito so that he'll destroy any regret or doubts from his previous loss to marga. it's best to clear his mind first before taking on another big fight out there. there's still a good time to make that cotto-martinez fight. its best not to rush things.

I would have love to see this fight to bad Arum is Miguel's promoter, I heard Cotto was open to fighting Sergio.

On the other hand, maybe they should all sign up with Top Rank!
