I think £1500 should be ok if you are just planning on going to the pub. There are loads of attractions in York though so your budget might be stretched if your considering doing some site seeing!
For food and drink.....
The Biltmore in York located on Swinegate is a beautiful Bar and Grill which has fantastic offers every day of the week (happy hour Sunday-Friday 3-7pm...Beers only £2.20, full meals from a £5 with their Rapdio lunches and so much more.....visit their website or Facebook for full details)
They've also got their own Facebook which shows all the up to date offers so I recommend liking it so you know what's going on.

They're known to do a good fish and chips so if your wanting to get your England hat on try going there!
Also do a fantastic Sunday Lunch.....you could treat your aunt! If you book in advance you get a glass of wine, half a Grolsch or draught of soft drink.....can't go wrong!!
All the details can be found on their Facebook and website.
It really is a beautiful place one of my favourites in York!
I hope you try The Biltmore out...I have also attached a link with reviews

4 months is 17 weeks or so.
This gives you about £88 per week.
Depending on how much you drink and how many times you go out, this does not seem very much money to have.
My 19 year old son looks to spend about £50 every time he goes out for the night.
