Help! How much does it cost a community theatre for lighting.?
A show (musical) runs for 4 nights. Approx. how much would it cost to run the lighting. If it helps our hypothetical show is hairspray (...this is for a publicity project for district competition. I'm supposed to have a rough budget and I'm completely stumped on the cost of lighting).

This depends on what you'll need, who you'll need, and what is available at the venue.
This is my minimum breakdown if none of it is provided by the venue:
PERSONNEL
Lighting Designer - $500
Master Electrician/Board Operator - $250
Volunteer Electricians - $0
GEAR
40-100 Conventional Fixtures (rented) - $520-$1350
Color Media and Templates $60
1-3 48 Circuit Dimmer Packs (rented) - $450-$1350
Approx. 1000 ft. of Cable (rented) - $100
Control Console (rented) - $200
TOTAL: $2080 - $3810
