Should Vince Lombardi's name continue to be on the Super Bowl trophy?

I believe that if he were alive today and could see how the NFL is being pussified, he wouldn't want anything to do with the sport any more. He once said "Dancing is a contact sport. Football is a collision sport". With all of these flags and fines, it's just no longer a mans game. If I were a decendant of Vince, I would have to tell the NFL to remove his name. Vince wouldn't want it the way the game is being played today.

I agree. With arrogant refs like Ed Hochuli determined to make themselves part of the game with Roger Goodell's blessing, it's a good start to signal the new NFL by renaming the trophy.

There is still plenty of collisions every Sunday. They just don't want people get hit in the head. Vince would support that because he would be cognizant of the harmful effects of concussions. Vince Lombardi's team has never been labeled dirty. He would feel honored to have his name on the trophy.

He may have been as tough as nails, but he respected "The Shield." His name should remain on the award.
