How can we liven this section up?

This section has been slow and nearly dead for a while now. I say we have another "Big Kahuna"..

Thoughts?

I don't spend a ton of time in this particular category of Y!A, but there seems to be a general philosophy among younger folks that doing research on your own just isn't cool. Why actually read about a subject or go and find out firsthand when you can type a question and have somebody else answer it for you? This is the way the Mechanics section and the Hunting and Camping sections seem to be, at least to me.

Additionally, most people I know are what I call "summer fisherman". They'll go out when the weather is nice (or at least warm) but once the temperature goes down then fishing is only a nagging empty feeling until springtime rolls around again. Since most people seem to be this way then it makes sense the section would calm down a little in winter time. It's the same reason the hunting section gets crowded during deer season but overrun by airsoft wackos the other 8 months of the year.

I don't know about livening up the fishing department, but if you want a good laugh you can head over to the psychology area 1.) read some of the ridiculous questions and 2.) read some of the ridiculous answers. It ain't as good as fishin' or huntin', but it'll make you smile and shake your head awhile.

*chants* big kahuna big kahuna big kahuna!

Of course I did answer one of my favorite question types the other day... I love it when people are going to be fishing my stomping grounds, I just wonder if they're actually gonna choose a best answer or if it's gonna go to voting.

Only problem with big kahunas is trying to think of good questions... we always come up with some fun ones, though, don't we?

Agreed and we also need someone to set them up and the old timers to come back. I am kind of fed up with the site so I am not on as often and I have been busy

Lots of freshwater fishing questions--how about lots of saltwater fishing questions?

Source(s): I do both; however, I prefer the larger saltwater species. http://www.salmonfishingadventure.com/
