What's your favorite thing about your favorite fishing hole?

Don't worry, I'm not asking anyone to give away their secret spots, just what do you like best about your favorite secret spot? (I know, I know, just a variation on some the the questions that are asked on a regular basis, but still)

For me, once again, my favorite fishing hole is just a section of the most diverse estuary system in the U.S., which is what I think I like best about it. Don't really care if I get skunked because there's always something cool going on around me... today was gorgeous, wish I could have been out on the water... just glass flat, saw some mullet jumping, hard to tell if it was a red tailing or not considering I was going along at about 50 mph on U.S.1, but it sure looked like it... it's just getting out into it for me... dinner is a welcome added bonus, but not necessary for me to enjoy a day out... on the rare occasions I can actually get a day out, of course.

    diversity.

I also fish the estuaries around my way and to be honest, it's never the same deal every week for me.

Every day is different, every month a new species and every winter exciting. The wildlife is great with manatees, sea turtles, hawks chasing doves, buzzards flying high, gators and crocs sunning and so much more. I sometimes ask myself if I'm really out here to fish or just to witness everything. A fish or 2 may be icing on the cake but my little spot caters with the finesse of a 5 star restraunt; you just need to know how to order and tip well. ; ) If you and yours are ever my way drop a line. ~good luck catchin'

I would email any of the regulars on here my favorite fishing hole.Anyways my favorite fishing hole depending on what species I am going for, is located either on a sandbar with a small creek going to it or a rocky dropoff with a small creek going through it. It doesnt always provide for me and the pond itself is difficult to catch fish , but that is what makes it challenging and enjoyable to fish in.Of course to relax, spend time with friends, or just getting out the house are other reasons why they are my favorite ponds.Too bad I moved away from them, but I will always remember the 3 years I spent fishing them and all the memories I had with people who I met or took along

Its a mixture of issues. eliminating the dock and the temperature drop. The dock presented the cover mandatory to carry the baitfish the trout feed on. at the same time as it changed into bumped off the bait went elsewhere. at the same time as the temp drops the fish flow to deeper water. My advice might want to be flow out in a deliver and fish the deeper water.

I think most everybody that's familiar with my answers knows the names of my favorite and 2 home lakes. If not, then tough.

These two lakes in southern California are known throughout the U.S. AND world as being big bass lakes. Both of 'em having produced several bass over 20 pounds in the past, one of 'em popping out a 21 pounder and the other one just a tad under 22 or just a tad over. Hundreds over 10. Stockings of hatchery rainbow trout keep these bass fed and healthy. And big. They aren't necessarily big lakes like most of the ones that people on here say they fish. Neither one of 'em is over 3,000 acres. They're small, hard to fish, heavily pressured lakes with lots of small coves and if you're lucky enough to catch a bass, you know you're good at what you're doing. My favorite lake is in the Ojai Valley, surrounded by plenty of beautiful hills and trees. The scenery is awesome. My other home lake is in the Los Angeles area, it's not as pretty as my favorite lake, but still nice if you like that desolate, plain shoreline look.

My main reason for loving my favorite lake is greed, to be honest. Why greed you wonder? Because all it takes is just ONE perfectly placed cast to hook that fish of a lifetime.
