I would go get a tent from the garage, a blanket from the closet, and a meal from the fridge. While gathering said items, I would call the police. Then I would hand the stranger the items and tell he/she to go sleep under the tree out in my yard and I would wait for the police to come.

Depends on the person and if I trust them and what their situation was, i.e. out of their control/emergency/domestic abuse or just a consequence of very poor life choices that could have been avoided.

Based on that if they were just being irresponsible or I had reason to believe they were trying to take advantage and find a place to mooch they would need to find someone who is that desperate for friendship because I'm not.

If the situation was due to an emergency or special circumstance and they were a friend they could stay for a few days but then I would need to help them find a permanent arrangement.

If it was one of my sisters or brothers they could stay until they got back on their feet. If it became a financial strain on me we would have to see about finding a permanent solution because I am a student on a fixed income and can't financially support someone else right now (that's why I don't have kids!!)

If it was a total stranger or someone I didn't know or trust very well then I would locate a shelter/motel for the night and give them bus fare. Gotta play it safe.

a child - take them in, but i'd call cps or the police to be sure the parents were notified.

a woman - i might let them stay, depending on their situation and the creep factor

a man - i'd call my pastor to help me help the man.

a dog or cat would get a warm bed in the garage next to the furnace, while my cat slept in the bathroom...

Depends if i know the person. if I don't know them i'd take them somewhere where they could stay, if I know them they could sleep under my sink ;)

Depends on the age and gender and level of creepiness. If its a child I would def let them in. Probably a woman too. If it was a man I dunno.
