Does minor gingivitis heal itself?

I have gingivitis on one of my teeth. I've been reading up on it, and it could get pretty serious by spreading to the gums which may lead to periodontal disease. Does it heal itself? Or do I have to go see a dentist?

Gingivitis can be reversed. Try brushing with that crest pro health toothpaste ans using their mouthwash. It reverses gingivitis. Also, floss daily and try a warm saltwater rinse once or twice a day. If it doesn't improve or gets worse in a few weeks, see a dentist

Possibly. I had gingivitis from not flossing, and the dentist wanted to do a scaling and root planing. They scheduled me to come in about a month from the consult. When I got home I flossed every evening and used mouthwash. It was tough at first, but at the end of the month, it was routine. When I went in for the scaling and root planing, it was a piece of cake - they were surprised at how much improvement I had made in just a month. Brush, floss, and use mouthwash... Also go to the dentist regularly
