The Archos 101 isn't a gaming machine. Yes, there are game, but it isn't a powerful enough system to equal a PC designed to run games (laptop or desktop).
The Archos line of Internet Tablets, though, is a great Android tablet line when you're looking for surfing the web, getting your mail, playing basic games, listening to music, watching movies, etc.
I have two Android device - HTC EVO and the Archos 70 IT 8 GB - and Android devices are really great for what they do (e.g. be like an iPad and beyond).
I should note Archos says in the later part of 2011 the Archos Internet Tablets will be dual boot - running both Windows 7 and Android. This will make them even sweeter. The only possible downside is the 256 MB of RAM the device has, which isn't that great these days - especially for a Windows 7 system. Time will tell the tale.
You really should look into the Archos line of tablets. They have a 7 and 10.1 inch in 8 GB & 16 GB internal drive for the 10 inch and 8 GB and 250 GB HD for the 7 inch.
Again it depends upon what you want, but unless you have the money for a great gaming system, the Archos line is a great way to get on the net and have fun with a computer. (Remember it is Wifi not 3G (cell phone)).

A gaming desktop will always be more powerful. If you're the type who needs to game everywhere all of the time, however, go for the laptop. An Alienware notebook still should be able to run most games pretty smoothly.

You could get a Windows 7 desktop that would outperform a laptop for less money. Of course you are trading cost and performance for the ability to take it anywhere. Personally, I would recommend the desktop.

in case you're enjoying greater end video games, get a private pc. getting a brilliant beefy pc beat the point. the bigger gaming pc you get the better the prospect for issues as a results of warmth, and because agencies would desire to attempt and funky those undesirable boys they cost you the extra beneficial for it.
